Visiting Maeda Kobo’s tea box making factory in Kawanehonmachi, Shizuoka
今回は新しい商品の紹介動画の撮影とインタビューも兼ねて、ジョージ、サラと竹内の３人で静岡の川根本町に向かいました。
George, Sarah, and Takeuchi went to Kawanehonmachi, Shizuoka, for a new product introduction video shoot and interview.
前田工房さんのオーナー薗田さんを始め、スタッフの皆さんにも、忙しいところ作業中の手を止めて頂きお答え頂きました。ありがとうございます。
We would like to thank Mrs. Sonoda, owner of Maeda Kobo, and his staff for taking the time to answer our questions.
茶箱を作る工程は大きく分けて全部で９つ
伐採、乾燥、計測、裁断、組み合わせ、磨き、トタン貼り、和紙貼り、乾燥。
使う木のパーツは14ヶ、それぞれ手際よく組み合わせていきます。
The process of making a tea box consists of nine main steps, which are
Logging, drying, measuring, cutting, match up, applying galvanized steel, applying Japanese paper, drying, and polishing.
14 parts of the tree are used
それぞれのパーツに分かれて流れ作業になります。
熟練の職人技を間近で見せて頂き、繊細な工程の数々に驚きました。
Each part is divided into a separate production step
The intricate processes involved are amazing when you see the craftsmanship up close.
大きな茶箱はもちろん、小さくなればなるほど、細かい作業が増え
ミリ単位の調整が必要になります。
慎重かつ丁寧な作業とチームワークによって作り上げる作業に感心させられました。
From large tea boxes to smaller ones, the smaller they get, the more intricate the work becomes, requiring adjustments down to the millimeter.
It is truly impressive to see how meticulous and detailed the work and teamwork is.
